He is seeing his doctor today to discuss the wisdom in getting the surgery in light of the other health problems he has. He is practical...why get the knee done if he will be dead in a year or so. If the doctor says he will be around for quite a while yet and he chooses to go ahead with the sugery I will just have to work it out. He is the only close family member I have left....it is just that we tend to be complete opposites and as much as I love him, it is going to be a battle to keep from screaming at each other if we are in close proximity for 6 weeks and I don't have a computer at his place, so I can't get my stress out killing monsters. Anyway...what will be, will be. Right?

It is a difficult situation. I moved out to BC from Alberta to be near him but I have animals...7 of them so the only place I could find on a disability pension was a (should be condemned) rotting mobile home out of town. There just isn't anywhere else in this area that I could afford and that would allow animals. His place is too small for me and my animals and I would never ask him to move here as it is not the healthiest place to live and there are steps and he is not keen on cats. So I will have to spend from late afternoon till after his breakfast and shower in the morning at his house. I will try to arrange for someone to help him with lunch and coffee in the afternoon...that will give me enough time to come here, tend pets, do some cleaning, view some taped tv programs and check mail. I am going to try to get him to have a cable put into the guest room so I don't have to watch his sports all the time. That may help keep us from being at each other's throats.
